Send your empty cartridge / cartridges to: The INK Store, 101 Clase Road, Morriston, Swansea. SA6 8DY and enclose a cheque / postal-order for the type and amount of cartridges you are enclosing (see above for prices) plus £1.00 P&P for up to 2 cartridges enclosed (see post tariff).
Prices are VAT inclusive, so there's no VAT to add to the above prices and VAT invoices are supplied with your returned refilled cartridges.

Place your cartridges in a paper envelope and then inside a protective packet such as a jiffy bag.

There is no VAT to be added to your payment.

Refill Service:

What we offer:

1. We will refill your empty inkjet cartridge with the correct ink for your cartridge brand & model at the prices listed above.
2. Your empty cartridge will be refilled to its full capacity.
3. We will carry out a visual examination of your cartridge prior to refilling.
4. We will package your refilled ink cartridge appropriately.
5. We will post your refilled ink cartridge back to you the same day we receive it.
6. If the colour cartridge is found to be contaminated, we will attempt to contact you to gain authorisation to decontaminate the cartridge and replenish (see decontamination).

Conditions:

All refilled inkjet cartridges are filled to the correct capacity (full) when despatched to the customer.
The performance of the inkjet cartridge is the responsibility of the cartridge owner, i.e. the customer.
If empty inkjet cartridges are received in poor physical condition and or found to be unsuitable for refilling, the cartridge will be returned to the customer or disposed of, according to the wishes of the customer.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure a good working condition empty cartridge is supplied for refilling as, the print performance of the cartridge will reflect the cartridge's condition, age and inkless period.
We do not guarantee the performance of the printed circuit and print head attached to the cartridge, as they are prone to failure at any time ( much like a light bulb filament ), even when new. However, we do clean any ink, dirt or corrosion from the electrical contacts to assist in a better communication with the printer.
We do not refill laser / copier toner cartridges.
We do not refill inkjet cartridges that do not have a print head attached, which means that cartridges that fit into printers with fixed print heads (such as Epson) do not get refilled, as there are new cartridges on our website and at our store that can be purchased far cheaper than refill prices.

Decontamination:

All too often, customers attempt to refill their own cartridges using generic refill kits and put the wrong colour inks in the chambers.
When this happens, all is not lost.
Normally, the cartridge would be rendered unusable in its current state and would not be retrievable.
However, The INK Store can decontaminate the chambers for you and replenish the ink levels in the process.
This is an additional service and costs more than a standard colour refill.
Decontamination service cost = £9.00

Your cartridge is returned to you ready for use as a full cartridge with the correct colours and quantity of ink within.

Contamination in transit:
If a cartridge is sent to us incorrectly inserted into its transit clip or with plastic / tape touching the print head, it will arrive completely contaminated, as the colours will seep from each chamber through the print head and track back into other chambers.
If this occurs, The INK Store withholds the right to refuse to refill the cartridge as above, but providing the customer enters a contact telephone number with their return address, we will contact the customer and inform them of the situation and offer the decontamination process or return / scrap of the contaminated cartridge.
If the customer requires the decontamination service, there will then be an additional charge of £2.00 invoiced to the customer on top of the £7.00 sent for refill of the colour cartridge, making a total of £9.00 for the decontamination and replenishment service.

Terms & Conditions of the decontamination service.
1) The INK Store will decontaminate most types of colour cartridge with a print head, whether the contamination has been caused through; incorrect refilling procedures by the customer, purchase of a contaminated cartridge from another party, cartridge being left with the print head touching an object or surface, plastic or tape being placed across the print head or incorrect insertion into storage / transit clip. No matter what the cause of contamination, we will undertake the decontamination service on most colour cartridge types with print heads attached.
2) Should a cartridge be found to be beyond repair or the colour contamination irretrievable, The INK Store withholds the right to refuse the service and either return the cartridge & payment to the customer or scrap the cartridge depending on the customers wishes.
3) As with the refill service, if a cartridge circuit / head plate should fail on insertion into the customers printer, no responsibility should be placed on The INK Store. All cartridges with print heads are prone to breakdown / failure at any time without warning. Any circuit / print head plate failure will not be a result of our procedures, but of cartridge age, fair wear and tear, inadequate packaging / protection for sending to The INK Store or lack of care and maintenance by the cartridge owner (the customer).
4) All refilled / decontaminated cartridges returned to customers by The INK Store will be correctly packaged and protected for the journey.
5) If a cartridge is known to be contaminated or producing strange colours whilst printing prior to sending to The INK Store for refilling, then the enclosed cheque for the refill should be the amount for the decontamination service, £9.00.
6) Should the colour cartridge become contaminated during transit to The INK Store due to incorrect packing / storage, an additional invoice for decontamination at £2.00 will be issued to the customer with the return of their cartridge. This will be additional to the £7.00 refill charge for which the cheque will have already been received.
7) Colour contamination can only apply to colour cartridges and not black cartridges.
8) Physical damage to the colour cartridge sent for refilling / decontamination may result in the return of the cartridge & payment to the customer without the service being carried out, so please only send serviceable cartridges.
9) As with the refill service, decontamination guarantees a perfect flow of ink through the cartridge print head on leaving our premises, but as cartridges are prone to clogging when left out of the printer or within the printer for any long period without use, the customer will need to use the manufacturers software provided with the printer to clean the print head (see our information page for head cleaning).
10) We recommend that empty / contaminated cartridges should be sent to us within 15 days of becoming empty / contaminated.
If a cartridge has been left for any period longer than that above without use, expect the print heads to be clogged to some degree. The INK Store will use every method known to attempt to clear the clogging prior to refilling, but once cleared, any further clogging or lack of print from the cartridge once returned to the customer will then be the customers responsibility to clean the cartridge either using the printer software or in more severe cases, by using a recommended cleaning solution / process.
We will not return a cartridge unless the ink flow from the print head is correct. If clogging can't be cleared we will contact you.




Refill Information:

Cartridge refill success is best achieved within 15 days of the inkjet cartridge becoming empty.
Empty inkjet cartridges have a certain life span and this can range from between 1 refill from new to 5 refills from new on average. However, cartridge circuits have been known to fail when brand new and on the 1st attempt of refilling / remanufacture and in contrast, cartridge circuits have been known to last up to 50 refills, the latter being exceptional durability.
Once an inkjet cartridge circuit has failed, the ink cartridge is unusable and a new or serviceable cartridge has to be purchased.
Please do not send cartridges for refilling in the same parcel / package as empty cartridges for recycling, send in separate parcels / packages.

Cartridge Types:

Almost all inkjet cartridges can be refilled. However, we do not refill Epson & some Canon cartridges as, it is more cost effective to buy new compatible cartridges.

We refill most popular HP inkjet cartridges at the prices above. HP cartridges that have no print head, are now also added to our refill prices above, however if the microchip date has expired, then the cartridge should not be refilled as it will not work. This means that these can only be refilled if the expiry date is still valid, but the cartridge will cease to function after the expiry date. This date is printed on the cartridge in USA format YY/MM/DD, check this before sending.
We refill most popular Lexmark inkjet cartridges at the prices above. There are some new Lexmark cartridges that cannot be refilled, these are called Exchange Program Cartridges such as 23 & 24 / 28 & 29 / 36 & 37
We refill most popular Dell inkjet cartridges including Dell 720 / A920 printer cartridges, Black T0529 & Colour T0530 at the prices above.
We refill Canon inkjet cartridges that have a print head attached to the cartridge at the prices above.
We can also fill your Apple, BT, Olivetti, Philips, Samsung, Sharp and any other cartridge that has a print head attached.

Why we only mainly fill cartridges with print heads attached.
Cartridges without print heads attached are called ink tanks and can be purchased from new at a fraction of the price of ink cartridges with print heads. Most of the time, refilling ink tanks is far less cost effective.
